“Erlian he……” Eloise was terrified. She had never seen Erlian be so different from usual. Wasn't he supposed to appear calm and intelligent?

Eli backed many more steps away from Erlian, explaining to Eloise. “Before, he was very worried about Dari, but now he is very angry—no, livid!”

Livid?! Eloise turned to look at Erlian. The latter’s smile had thickened to……a very terrifying level. Unknowingly, she consecutively backed away many steps until she had already backed up to Eli’s side—she only barely didn’t duck behind the latter’s back to hide.

“Erlian really looks scary. I’ll leave Ezart to him; I should go look for Dari.”

After Eloise gave her conclusion, she immediately turned to leave……Ah!

“What are you doing Eli? Let go of my collar. I’m going to go look for Dari……”

“You want to run away right?”

After reaching out and grabbing Eloise’s collar with both hands, Eli slowly turned his head, half of his face hidden in shadow as he asked coldly, “You want to leave me behind to deal with an out of control Erlian alone?”

As usual, Ezart arrived at school not long after the bell rang and lazily slunk into the classroom. The noisy classroom immediately quieted for a few seconds when he arrived, judging that his expression seemed to be as usual.

Then, the chaos continued.

He leisurely and slowly walked to his own seat, casually throwing his backpack to the side and preparing to begin what he must do every day in class: sleep.

But, this time, the one who had already long since sat in his own seat, Daren, suddenly stood up and slammed both hands on top of Ezart’s desk, stopping the latter from sleeping.

Ezart coldly raised his head and glared at him.

The classroom was again struck into silence. Every student had their mouths open in a gape as if they had seen a ghost during the day, and one after another slowly froze in the middle of what they had been doing.

“If you don’t move your hand from my desk, you had better prepare to be sent to the hospital,” Ezart said coldly.

“Brother……” Daren called timidly.

Devon neatly pulled out a hand pistol, beautifully fired a shot, and the bullet grazed by Theodore’s cheek, leaving behind a mark of blood.

This action was already shocking enough, but, the latter’s reaction was even more shocking. The one who had been shot at, Theodore, only pushed up his glasses with an expression as if he were listening to heavenly revelations. Then, he continued his unfinished treatment, continuing to treat Daren’s bruises with the needle suction machine.

“Who was it?” Devon said furiously.

“It’s only a fight between classmates,” Theodore explained helplessly, even though this explanation was difficult for he himself to believe.

“A fight between classmates?”

Devon looked at his little brother’s bruised body, and his crimson ruby eyes were filled with heartache. “Beaten this badly in a fight between classmates? Who dares to hit Dari? Could it be that porcupine head with the strange haircut?!”

“No! It wasn’t Ezart, really! He won’t hit me……” Daren suddenly stopped speaking.

Devon roared viciously, “Then who was it? If you don’t tell your brother, I’ll kill that porcupine head!”

Daren began to panic. If his brother knew which students had hit him, he was afraid that those people would never need to go to class anymore. He flailed his hands in a panic, “Brother, Dari is fine, only just a little injured. After daddy Theodore treats me I’ll be fine.”

Devon walked over, touching each of his little brother’s wounds with heartache, almost as if each injury hurt him as well.

He was really wrong. How could he let his brother be so sad……. Daren hung his head and said regretfully, “Brother……Don’t be sad. From now on, Dari won’t obediently let people hit him.”

Hearing this, Theodore who was currently treating injuries revealed a weird expression.

Hey all!

So, to those EH fans out there (which is most of you, I'd reckon) I'll be picking up Eclipse Hunter from where Odd Squad left off, which was at volume 2, chapter 4. 

Eclipse Hunter is the series about Daren's story that comes before No Hero. The chapters before this are on the Odd Squad's website.

The chapters were a bit longer than I had thought, so I'll have to split them into parts this time.

Daren walked anxiously, afraid that Ezart would arrive at school earlier than him. When he arrived at the place that Ezart would definitely need to pass by, he checked the time. Fortunately, it was only seven. Normally, Ezart would only pass by at around eight, so he would definitely come.

Daren had plenty of patience. He continued stretching his neck, his eyes not missing any corner as he continuously search the streets.

After waiting until eight o’clock, Daren started to become worried. Could it be that Ezart isn’t coming to class? Right, yesterday he seemed to say that he wasn’t going to come to class, but, the fighting competition did not end that late and when we were roasting meat he also said that he would come to class today…….

“Could it be that he’s so angry that he’s not coming to class?” Daren felt his spirits sinking. Should I keep waiting or should I go to class?

The battle school starts class at eight-thirty. If I go now, I could still walk over. But, if I wait another ten minutes, then I would have to fly in order to make it to class on time. Daren hesitated uncertainly.

Or should I wait until Ezart comes to class to apologize?

While he was hesitating, he did not notice that a few students had circled him, and it was only after they had already completely surrounded him that Daren finally regained his senses.
